MAIA THOMAS
From day dot, Maia has been driven by a curiosity to explore and elevate diverse narratives. Growing up as a Balinese-Australian in rural Victoria, she was given a unique perspective on what it was like to be ‘other’. Her journey through the predominantly monochromatic Australian acting industry has fuelled her passion for creating a new voice, this time from behind the camera, one that reflects a richer tapestry of experiences, blending her unique Australian experience in production.
Maia boasts two decades of experience working under Producers Liz Watts (Animal Kingdom, The King, Lore), Bryce Menzies (Hotel Mumbai, Predestination, I am Mother), and John Edwards (Love my Way, The Secret Life of Us).
